Theodore Sheffield Chapin, geologist and author who spent ten years in Alaska with the U. S. Geological Survey and wrote reports on the Matanuska Valley coal fields and on other mineralized areas, died in a hospital in California on Christmas Day, 1964.�  [1965Jun]
