Mollie Balas, who came to Alaska as a young girl in 1936, died May 12 in a hospital at Oakland, Calif. She lived in Cordova as a housewife and cannery worker until 1957, with short stays in Ellamar, Katalla and Peak Island in Prince William Sound, and in Kodiak from 1957 until 1963.� [Sep1965]
