L. K. (Slim) Carroll, 72, died in the Veteran's Cancer Hospital in Portland, Ore., where he had been flown for treatment last, January from his cabin on the Goodpaster River. He was the last of the permanent residents of that area where he had operated an extensive trap line since -1939, He came into Fairbanks only once or twice a year to sell furs and get supplies. [June1967]
