James L. Hurst, 66, pioneer Alaskan pilot, died June 23 at Anchorage's Providence Hospital. A long-time Federal Aviation Administration pilot, Hurst also operated a charter air service. He was a charter member of the Ox-S. Club made up of veteran aviators. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Ida Hurst, Cedar Bluffs, Iowa, and three sisters. [Aug1968]
