Eugene E. Morris, 68, a retired Alaska State Trooper, died in a hunting accident near Carlsbad, New Mexico, December 2. He came to Alaska in the 1940s and was one of the original 10 territorial policemen, the Anchorage Times reported. He worked in various locations and finally on the Pribilof Islands, before he retired in 1972 and moved to New Mexico. His wife, Patty, survives.� [May1981]
