Eleanor Hartner, who. with her husband Ed, owned and operated several dairy farms in the Palmer-Wasilla area during the 1940s and 1950s, died September 19 in Saginaw, Michigan, where she had lived for the past year. She also worked for the Palmer Phone Company as a telephone operator, and in the late 1950s she and her husband operated the old Roadhouse at Wasilla. They moved in 1968 to Soldotna, where her husband died, after which she returned to Palmer and worked for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District. [Feb1981]
