End of the Trail

Notices in this section are limited to names of those who have achieved pioneer status through many years in the North, or who are otherwise of unquestioned importance in the daily scene.

Del Curry, 71, an early-day Cat tram driver in the Yellowknife area, and later a northern construction company operator, died February 12. Crossing huge pressure ridges on Great Slave Lake on narrow planks as the Cat slowly tipped toward freezing water was all part of the job 40 years ago, his obituary noted his wife, Rose, survives.
