Notices in this section are limited to names of those who have achieved pioneer status through many years in the North, or who are otherwise of unquestioned importance in the daily scene.

An Alaska Department of Fish and Game biologist, Arthur E. Bratlief, 51, of Anchorage and veterinary scientist John J. Frank, 33, of Bethany, Missouri, died June 24 when their float plane crashed and burned to an experimental moose pen on the Kenai Peninsula. The pair were engaged in moose research at the time of the accident, having just flown from Anchorage. [Aug1968]
