A resident of Alaska more than thirty years and a member of Fairbanks Pioneer Igloo No. 4, Allen W. Brown died September 4 in Fresno, Calif., following a heart attack. Coming to Alaska with the Alaska Communications System, Brown later worked as a gold miner and for the Alaska Railroad. On moving to Fresno, he was a Veterans Administration official until retirement in 1964. Surviving are his widow, Mary, and three sons, John, Olympia, Wash.; John Clanton, Fresno, Calif., and Clifford M, Clanton, San Francisco.
