A forty-year resident of the Yukon and one of its best known big game guides, Alex Davis died June 21 at his home in Haines. Sixty-nine at his death, Davis established his guiding headquarters at Champagne Lake, retiring to Haines in 1966. He is survived by his wife, Louise, six stepdaughters and two stepsons. [Aug1968]
